Beautiful Apple Frangipane Tart

Apple Frangipane tart is a simple dessert with fresh apples tucked into creamy almond filling in a rich, buttery crust.

Assemble the crust in the food processor, then form it into a disc and refrigerate. It needs to rest before rolling it out.

Press the dough into the tart pan and use a fork to perforate the crust before baking.This will prevent it from puffing up. .

Peel the apples, slice in half lengthwise and remove the core and seeds..

Poach the apples briefly in a combination of water, honey, cinnamon, anise and vanilla.

Mix together the frangipane filling with butter, almond flour, sugar, eggs, flour, almond extract lime zest & rum.

Fill the par-baked shell with frangipane filling. Arrange the apple slices on top and bake.

This is a beautiful tart on it's own, but we like powdered sugar or ice cream to garnish it.
