How To Make Homemade Applesauce

Making homemade applesauce takes about 15 minutes and is so easy to do. I prefer McIntosh apples.

Just peel the apples (don't worry about the brown spots). This Kuhn Rikon peeler is wicked fast!

Core and roughly chop the apples. (Don't worry, it doesn't need to be perfect.)

The only "seasonings" are a little brown sugar and lime juice. (Lime juice is softer and goes great with the McIntosh apples.

Put all the apples, brown sugar and lime juice into a saucepan.

Cook until the apples just start to break down (it only takes about 5 minutes).

Transfer the mixture to a blender and pulse a few times. This goes REALLY FAST, so be careful not to over-process.

This homemade applesauce is sweet, tangy and floral and way better than store-bought. A great side dish with pork chops!
