How To Make Mexican Hot Cocoa Spiced Nuts

garlicandzest.com

One of our favorite holiday traditions is making and gifting spiced nuts. They're crunchy, sweet, spicy and addictive.

The spice blend is made with white and brown sugar, cinnamon, cocoa and cayenne pepper for a little tingle on the tongue.

I use frothy whipped egg whites to coat the nuts. This keeps the spice mix on the nuts instead of on your hands while munching.

Coat the nuts with egg whites until they're tacky, but not wet. Drain off any excess egg white or it will be goopy.
