Easy, Healthy Homemade Bircher Muesli

Muesli (a.k.a. Swiss oatmeal) is a  healthy breakfast food that's easy  & so delicious. Start by toasting the oatmeal in the oven.

Add boiling water to the toasted oats, cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight. No need to refrigerate them.

The next morning the oats are ready to use in your muesli. Unlike regular oatmeal, this is soft, but not mushy. The whole grains are distinct and separate.

Mix the oats with yogurt or milk (or make it non-dairy). Add fresh and dried fruits, nuts and seeds.

Use your favorite sweetener like honey, maple syrup or brown sugar. No-calorie sweeteners are fine too.

Stir it up & enjoy this classic healthy breakfast. It's full of good ingredients that will keep you fuller longer.

Try my citrus muesli with pineapple, orange slices, toasted almonds and coconut. The best!

Tropical muesli has dried mango, pineapple coconut, pistachios, brown sugar and sunflower seeds.

Harvest muesli has toasted pecans, chopped apple, golden raisins, pumpkin seeds, yogurt & honey.

Make your own combination & start the year on a healthy note w/a bowl of hearty, flavorful bircher muesli.
